Feedback from the ExportNOW: New Markets, New Jobs for Kansas Conference

Dear Karyn:
I am writing to commend you and the Kansas World Trade Center staff on putting together the excellent conference ExportNOW: New Markets, New Jobs for Kansas.

Allen, Gibbs & Houlik, L.C. appreciated the opportunity to be a major sponsor of the conference, and definitely felt that our firm benefited from many different aspects of our invlovement: the content presented, the visibility in an arena important for the firm, the association with a respected international trade organization such as the KWTC, and the opportunity to build relationships with prospective and current clients at the conference.

The quality of the presenters and the international resources represented at the conference was an outstanding show of the Kansas World Trade Center's connections. We look forward to attending and working with you on future events. Tammy J. Allen, Vice President Marketing & Communications, Allen, Gibbs & Houlik.

KWTC Provides Opportunities for Korean Aerospace

“Our collaboration effort with KWTC in hosting the Aviation Seminar was a big success due to KWTC’s connection and strong relationship with aviation companies in Kansas area. We were especially impressed with KWTC’s attention to details throughout the planning process and during the event, relieving us from many responsibilities. We have previously worked with some other World Trade Centers in the U.S. but KWTC’s service tops them all.” -Sunny Kim, Sr. Business Development Manager, KOTRA Chicago

In January 2009, the Kansas World Trade Center assisted the Korean Trade-Investment Agency (KOTRA) with an inbound trade mission to Kansas. The delegation was comprised of Korean aerospace companies who were seeking networking opportunities with the aviation community in Wichita, Kansas.

Through collaboration between KOTRA and the KWTC, a proposal was developed to meet the delegations desired objectives. The proposal included event coordination, site visit coordination, accommodation & transportation, as well as translation services. Upon approval, KWTC worked to develop a trade mission that provided the most value and benefit for KOTRA and the members of their delegation.

Hotel, transportation, & leisure accommodations were handled by the KWTC. This allowed KOTRA greater convenience and comfort in knowing that arrangements were being made with only the best providers in the area.

KWTC provided event coordination services to develop and manage an aerospace focused luncheon located in Wichita, Kansas, the "Air Capital of the World". Coordination services included event organization and management, marketing and promotion, rental and coordination of venue space, event material production, food and beverage arrangements, and staff management assistance for the day of the event. Through the KWTC's contacts with the local aviation community, it was able to market the event to the relevant companies requested by the delegation. The event was well received with attendance reaching over 50, the desired attendance of KOTRA.

In addition to the luncheon coordination, the KWTC provided site visit coordination to further meet the objectives of the delegation. The site visit to the local manufacturing facility provided the delegation additional opportunities to network and build relationships here in Kansas.

The KWTC's goal to meet and exceed the objectives of the customer was achieved. The delegation left Wichita knowing they had made a great choice by calling upon the services of the Kansas World Trade Center.
